Marketing I: Week V

I explained to my small group tonight that my plan is for my business to be self-sustaining in the next five years (which I think is a reasonable goal). The conversation then revolved around my price point. As you can see from my website - the price range of my beaded jewelry is about $30-80. To base my income on $30-80 products? That's a lot of necklaces. My peers posed that when ladies are shopping for something special and unique, the price point is more like $75-300 range. I wholeheartedly agree! I expect to pay at least $75 for a nice piece of jewelry. The problem thus far, I think, is that I have appeared at shows where people are shopping for "a little gift" for someone and don't want to spend more than $20-30. *Might I interest you in a pendant?!* I definately need to rethink both my pricing strategy and my aesthetic. And probably rearrange my webpage, too.

Glam it up? NO PROBLEM!
